Details:

A torso refers to the central part of the human body, excluding the head, arms, and legs. It houses critical organs such as the heart, lungs, and digestive system and provides a framework for attachment of the limbs. In anatomy, the torso includes the chest, abdomen, and back, with its skeletal structure primarily consisting of the rib cage and vertebrae.

A cuirass is a piece of armor that covers the torso, designed to protect the chest and back. Traditionally made from metal or leather, it was a key component of a knight's or soldier's protective gear during medieval and ancient times. Cuirasses often consist of two main parts: the breastplate (front) and the backplate, sometimes joined by straps or buckles. Modern uses include historical reenactments and ceremonial uniforms. The design of a cuirass balances durability and mobility, sometimes featuring ornate decoration for ceremonial versions.
